So a fresh attempt to restart the blog..i love writing but have yet to be disciplined about it.Sometimes I think Hemingway was right, one just has to sit down and write a few pages and that's it- no waiting for inspiration to strike or just hoping for the perfect phrase...
maybe I need a particular slant to this writing- will decide upon it and hope to be regular with my posts.

Well it's been a long time since I posted the last blog.My only defence is that as a new immigrant then I must have got swallowed up by the business of settling down in my new country.
So what pearls of wisdom can I offer after inching towards the four year mark? None , I'm honest enough to say, because I think immigration is a deeply personal journey - while the dos and don'ts can be found in the plethora of magazines , websites and comments by the well-meaning, each one of us has to chart our own way forward in this very tricky business of negotiating a new identity and a new life in Canada.

6 months old in Canada

I have been in Canada for 6 months and 2 days now,and it's been a time of learning, new experiences and new friends.Needless to add, the last has been most rewarding, and it's been so interesting to see that despite the differences in culture, religion and nationalities,we humans share so much together. We all need love and understanding, and we respond to friendship and kindness in pretty much the same way.
Any new Canadians out there who'd like to share experiences, welcome!

Hi,
have just created this blog and feel so empowered!Being a new immigrant to Canada has been a varied, interesting experience so far and i would love other immigrants, particularly those from Dubai/Jeddah/India to get in touch.Am also interested in creating an association of immigrants here who have come from Dubai,it would be nice to have stories to share.
This week, I'll be pondering over the question of our reasons to immigrate to Canada-it wasn't an easy decision to make, and hopefully time will tell whether it was the correct decision to make at all.Sometimes i wonder why we like to rock the boat-we were pretty contented with living in Dubai, but then we always want more, right?
